Luke 5:4-9

Peace to you my brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Luke 5:4-9

Verse Text: [Luke 5:4-9 KJV] Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto [their] partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw [it], he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:

Prior to this Jesus was in the boat teaching the crowd.

When Jesus asked Peter to move into deep water to catch fish, by Peter’s words, “Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing”, we can see that Peter has doubt. But, when they had caught a multitude of fish, the doubt was gone.

Like Thomas later on, Peter needed a sign to confirm Jesus.

[John 4:48 KJV] Then said Jesus unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe.

There are plenty of signs as proof in the Bible that Jesus is who He says He is. There are plenty of fulfilled prophesies in the Bible indicating the fulfilled promise of His coming and the fulfillment of His purpose. That is why the Bible, scripture, was left to us.

[2 Timothy 3:16-17 KJV] All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Inspiration: θεόπνευστος theópneustos, theh-op'-nyoo-stos; from G2316 and a presumed derivative of G4154; divinely breathed in:—given by inspiration of God.

We tend to think that the Bible author sits in a room until some sort of thing comes over him to write scripture. That is not of the intent of the description of divine inspiration. The intent is God breathed. In other words, the writers were either given the words directly from Jesus or through His Holy Spirit. Either way, the words come directly from Our Father.

Go forth and spread this good news.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Peace.
