Psalms 4:2

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Psalms 4:2

Verse Text: [Psalm 4:2 NKJV] 2 How long, O you sons of men, [Will you turn] my glory to shame? [How long] will you love worthlessness [And] seek falsehood? Selah

The KJV says:

[Psalm 4:2 KJV] 2 O ye sons of men, how long [will ye turn] my glory into shame? [how long] will ye love vanity, [and] seek after leasing? Selah.

Leasing (falsehood): כָּזָב kâzâb, kaw-zawb'; from H3576; falsehood; literally (untruth) or figuratively (idol):—deceitful, false, leasing, liar, lie, lying.

Vanity: רִיק rîyq, reek; from H7324; emptiness; figuratively, a worthless thing; adverbially, in vain:—empty, to no purpose, (in) vain (thing), vanity.

Selah: סֶלָה çelâh, seh'-law; from H5541; suspension (of music), i.e. pause:—Selah. Basically, silence, there is no more to be said.

Living in the flesh is seeking after falsehood because the world is full of lies. Living by, that is, doing, His word is living by truth.

Many live by the flesh and forsake the guidance of His Holy Spirit. By doing this, we turn His glory; that is, ourselves, into shame.

Selah is appropriate at the end of Psalm 4:2 because there is nothing more to say.

Go forth and spread this good news.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
