Matthew 8:2-3

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Matthew 8:2-3

Verse Text: [Matthew 8:2-3 NKJV] 2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, "Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean." 3 Then Jesus put out [His] hand and touched him, saying, "I am willing; be cleansed." Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Worshipped: προσκυνέω proskynéō, pros-koo-neh'-o; from G4314 and a probable derivative of G2965 (meaning to kiss, like a dog licking his master's hand); to fawn or crouch to, i.e. (literally or figuratively) prostrate oneself in homage (do reverence to, adore):—worship.

The leper prostrated himself before Yahshua.

[Leviticus 13:46 NKJV] 46 "He shall be unclean. All the days he has the sore he shall be unclean. He [is] unclean, and he shall dwell alone; his dwelling [shall be] outside the camp.

Lepers were not allowed around people; they were to dwell away from people. This man should not have even been there; this is why Matthew is using behold; that is, to call our attention to an astonishing thing.

The leper had obviously heard of the works Yahshua was doing and his faith brought him there. His faith told him that Yahshua could make him clean and his faith was fulfilled.

[Matthew 17:20 NKJV] 20 So Jesus said to them, "Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

We need to have the faith of this leper, Abraham, Sarah, and of the woman that touched the hem of His garment. Even if it is as small as a mustard seed, if we walk in His ways by living by Torah and we allow His Holy Spirit to lead us, then that seed will grow in us.

Go forth and spread this good news.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
