Today’s Bible Verse: Genesis 1:14-19
Title: Day Four
Verse Text: [Genesis 1:14-19 NKJV] 14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 "and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. [He made] the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that [it was] good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
Day Four is Wednesday.
[Genesis 1:14-15 NKJV] 14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; 15 "and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so.
Here God is telling you what He is going to do and what the purpose is.
[Genesis 1:16 NKJV] 16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. [He made] the stars also.
We call the greater light the sun and the lesser light the moon.
By the wording it almost seems as if the stars are an afterthought but they are not. If we combine the sun, moon, and stars we will be able to discern signs, determine the season, and mark days and years.
[Genesis 1:17-18 NKJV] 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that [it was] good.
God set the sun, moon, and stars in the sky above us and their actions divide the day and night.
God blessed Day Four. Now there was life on earth in a life sustaining system.
[Genesis 1:19 NKJV] 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
Day Four comes to a close.
