Day Three

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Genesis 1:9-13

Title: Day Three

Verse Text: [Genesis 1:9-13 NKJV] 9 Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry [land] appear"; and it was so. 10 And God called the dry [land] Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that [it was] good. 11 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb [that] yields seed, [and] the fruit tree [that] yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed [is] in itself, on the earth"; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb [that] yields seed according to its kind, and the tree [that] yields fruit, whose seed [is] in itself according to its kind. And God saw that [it was] good. 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.

Now we are in to Day Three, Tuesday.

[Genesis 1:9 NKJV] 9 Then God said, "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry [land] appear"; and it was so.

Now we have all the waters in one place on the earth and the dry land has now appeared. One probably picture it as what is described as Pangea; a supercontinent made up of all the land in one place.

The next question one could ask is what caused that supercontinent to break up. Scientists will tell you rifts and continental drift but the Bible shows us a great flood.

[Genesis 1:10 NKJV] 10 And God called the dry [land] Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that [it was] good.

Now we have the definitions for earth and seas and they were blessed.

[Genesis 1:11 NKJV] 11 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb [that] yields seed, [and] the fruit tree [that] yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed [is] in itself, on the earth"; and it was so.

Now God commands the creation of the grass, herbs, and trees. We now also have the definition of grass, herb, and tree.

[Genesis 1:12 NKJV] 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb [that] yields seed according to its kind, and the tree [that] yields fruit, whose seed [is] in itself according to its kind. And God saw that [it was] good.

The grass, herbs, and trees were created.

The Hebrew word for brought forth is yatsa' and it means to bring forth or bring out. God caused the grass, herbs, and trees to spring out of the ground. Could it be that the seed for them was there at the formation of the earth?

God blessed the grass, herbs, and trees. There was now life on earth.

[Genesis 1:13 NKJV] 13 So the evening and the morning were the third day.

And Day Three comes to a close.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
