Shalom brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: Luke 21:36
Title: Worthy
Verse Text: [Luke 21:36 NKJV] 36 "Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man."
Many say that the escape in this verse is the rapture but if we look at the usage in the context it is not having the things that are to come fall upon you. For example, the Israelites escaped the death of the first born by doing what God told them to do. They did not go anywhere, they stayed in Goshen, but they followed God’s instructions. There were Egyptians that did the same thing and they escaped as well.
The key here is following God’s instructions, his commandments, what He tells us to do in the Torah, Prophets, and Writings; the Tanakh, also known as the Old Testament.
Well, He tells us to do so many things, some will say.
[1 John 5:3 NKJV] 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.
I have not always followed His path but now that I am letting His Holy Spirit lead me I am finding that John 5:3 is true because I want to keep His commandments, which are found in the Old Testament and the New Testament is a witness to it.
There are many curses coming upon the world today because of the evil in men’s hearts but those that walk in the ways of Yahshua can have blessings instead of curses; that is, they can escape the things yet to come.
[1 Corinthians 9:24-27 NKJV] 24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain [it]. 25 And everyone who competes [for the prize] is temperate in all things. Now they [do it] to obtain a perishable crown, but we [for] an imperishable [crown]. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as [one who] beats the air. 27 But I discipline my body and bring [it] into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.
[Matthew 10:22 NKJV] 22 "And you will be hated by all for My name's sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.
Both of these verses are about enduring to the end. We are seeing the result of the curses all around us but if you have faith in Yahshua, the prophet like Moses, our master, our savior, and our redeemer, and we walk in His ways, then we will escape the things to come and stand before Him, the Son of man.
We will be part of this:
[1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 NKJV] 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
