The Wicked

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Proverbs 24:19-20

Title: The Wicked

Verse Text: [Proverbs 24:19-20 NKJV] 19 Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the wicked; 20 For there will be no prospect for the evil [man]; The lamp of the wicked will be put out.

Do you know any wicked people? I can say that I know of them but there are none truly in my life right now.

There was one once in my life. He always had an angle to make the quick buck or to have as much sex as he could. When I look back at my involvement with him, I can now see that all he cared about was himself; much like Cain.

For a time he had things and I can say that I was envious of him. As I began to wake up I broke off my friendship and walked away.

The other day I checked around from various sources on the internet. I know he has a criminal background so I looked to see if he might be back in jail. I found that he was in foreclosure on his house; something that he had put much money into, and, in order to salvage it, he has gone into bankruptcy. His lamp is dwindling.

In the NKJV it says that there will be no prospect for the evil man but the KJV says reward instead of prospect. I think reward is the better usage of achariyth. My former friend is getting no reward here and, if his actions continue as they have been, will receive the “reward” of the second death.

When I first met him, I was a bit like him; I was very dialed into the world and only gave lip service to God. Well, God slapped me down and woke me up. He broke me in order to mend me.

Yes, there are many wicked people in the world today and that is increasing.

[Genesis 6:5 NKJV] 5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every intent of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually.

This is where we are headed back to because:

[Proverbs 26:11 NKJV] 11 As a dog returns to his own vomit, [So] a fool repeats his folly.

The wicked can be very foolish because they have no empathy toward their fellow man and see their fellow man as a means of getting more power and money only. Many of them would gladly enslave us all just to get a few more dollars added to their portfolio.

We need to pray for these people every day.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
