The Yoke of Yahshua

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Matthew 11:28-30

Title: The Yoke of Yahshua

Verse Text: [Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV] 28 "Come to Me, all [you] who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 "For My yoke [is] easy and My burden is light."

When we think of yoke these days we tend to think of the yoke of bondage; however, this was not the yoke Yahshua was speaking of because Torah is not bondage. Unfortunately, this misconception of yoke is why so many think Torah is bondage.

When two or more oxen are yoked together it is so that they can work together. A well trained pair of oxen can pull up to two times their body weight; as much as 12,000 to 13,000 pounds. Well trained means that they have been trained to work together.

Not only is the training necessary but the yoke they wear is also important. It cannot be too loose or too tight. As Goldilocks said, it must be just right.

Torah is our yoke that lets us work with Yahshua. It is not too loose and it is not too tight; it is just right.

The work he asks us to do is easy.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
