Judging

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Luke 6:37

Title: Judging

Verse Text: [Luke 6:37 NKJV] 37 "Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

This is not telling us not to judge or condemn but to judge and condemn righteously.

Judgement is the act of determining guilt or innocence and condemnation is the act of pronouncing a sentence on the guilty. We are to use His word to judge and likewise to pronounce guilt; that is righteous judgement and condemnation. If we do not use His word, then we are as guilty of sin as the person being judged is.

[2 Timothy 3:16-17 NKJV] 16 All Scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

In order to correct, we must judge.

Forgiveness is the second part of this. Do not condemn with anger when a brother sins against you or the body. Instead, condemn with compassion and forgiveness.

In this ever increasingly violent world, many will sin against us and these sins may be vile indeed. Remember His words:

[Luke 23:34 NKJV] 34 Then Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do." And they divided His garments and cast lots.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
