Keep Watch

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Matthew 26:40-41

Title: Keep Watch

Verse Text: [Matthew 26:40-41 NKJV] 40 Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "What? Could you not watch with Me one hour? 41 "Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak."

No doubt that the disciples were very tired. They had just had a very long day and learned many things that were to happen that would weary us all. However, His command then and now is to watch.

If we look at Matthew 24 we will see the signs we need to be watchful of.

Watch in Greek is grēgoreō and in the Hebrew it is ra'ah. In both cases there is a sense of being awake.

It is interesting that we describe those of us in the Torah movement as being awakened.

When we are called to watch we are being called to be awakened; that is, awakened to His word and that also means we must show others His word.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.

Please share this with others.
