Peace to you my brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: [Romans 6:22-23 KJV] 22 But now being made free from sin,
and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end
everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is]
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Who was Paul writing to in Romans? It was a letter to the churches in Rome. All
of these people were assumed to be the elect.
The bottom line here is that it is the elect of God that are made free from sin
by The Holy Spirit and become servants of Jesus because He has paid the ransom of
His elect by His blood and resurrection. He has paid the wages of sin for God’s
elect.
God chooses His elect and He has done that before time began.
[John 15:16 KJV] 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained
you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should
remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it
you.
[Romans 9:11-21 KJV] 11 (For [the children] being not yet born, neither having
done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might
stand, not of works, but of him that calleth;) 12 It was said unto her, The elder shall serve
the younger. 13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. 14
What shall we say then? [Is there] unrighteousness with God? God forbid. 15 For
he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have
compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then [it is] not of him that
willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy. 17 For the
scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up,
that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared
throughout all the earth. 18 Therefore hath he mercy on whom he will [have
mercy], and whom he will he hardeneth. 19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth
he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will? 20 Nay but, O man, who art
thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed
[it], Why hast thou made me thus? 21
Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one
vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
[Acts 13:48 KJV] 48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and
glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life
believed.
[John 15:5 KJV] 5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me,
and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do
nothing.
[Ephesians 2:16 KJV] 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body
by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
[John 10:26-29 KJV] 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I
said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither
shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave [them] me,
is greater than all; and no [man] is able to pluck [them] out of my Father's
hand.
[Ephesians 1:4 KJV] 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the
foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in
love:
[Jeremiah 10:23 KJV] 23 O LORD, I know that the way of man [is] not in himself:
[it is] not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
All of Psalm 139.
You may not choose to accept election but that is what is in the verses above.
God is sovereign and will choose whom he will and reject whom he will. We can
do nothing to influence that choice.
So, why preach the gospel if the choice has already been made?
[Matthew 13:3-23 KJV] 3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying,
Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4 And when he sowed, some [seeds] fell by
the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5 Some fell upon stony
places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because
they had no deepness of earth: 6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched;
and because they had no root, they withered away. 7 And some fell among thorns;
and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8 But other fell into good ground,
and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. 10 And the disciples came, and said unto
him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto
them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of
heaven, but to them it is not given. 12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be
given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall
be taken away even that he hath. 13 Therefore speak I to them in parables:
because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they
understand. 14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By
hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and
shall not perceive: 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and [their] ears
are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they
should see with [their] eyes, and hear with [their] ears, and should understand
with [their] heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 16 But
blessed [are] your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear. 17 For
verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous [men] have desired to
see [those things] which ye see, and have not seen [them]; and to hear [those
things] which ye hear, and have not heard [them]. 18 Hear ye therefore the
parable of the sower. 19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and
understandeth [it] not, then cometh the wicked [one], and catcheth away that
which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. 20
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth
the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 Yet hath he not root in himself,
but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of
the word, by and by he is offended. 22 He also that received seed among the
thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the
deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. 23 But he
that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and
understandeth [it]; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an
hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
We must spread the seed of the gospel and let God open the eyes of His elect.
We all have a job.
[Matthew 28:18-20 KJV] And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching
them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with
you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.
All of the disciples of Jesus are to spread His word and the gospel.
This is the gospel:
[1 Corinthians 15:1-6 KJV] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel
which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you,
unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that
which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the
scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according
to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After
that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater
part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
[Acts 2:22-24 KJV] 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a
man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did
by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered
by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by
wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24 Whom God hath raised up, having
loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden
of it.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I pray that God has revealed Himself to you and that you have salvation.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Peace.
