Peace to you my brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: [1Jo 3:10 KJV] 10 In this the children of God are
manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is
not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
The first thing is the difference between neighbor and brother.
My neighbor is my fellow man.
[Mat 22:39 KJV] 39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself.
That is, we should not do anything that would bring harm to any man. In Hebrew
the word for love in this case is 'ahab and it means to treat as a friend.
Unless your neighbor does anything harmful to you, they are to be treated as
friends.
My brother is someone that I fellowship with. That is, we both share the gospel
and same basic beliefs of scripture.
Being in fellowship does not mean that we have to attend the same church. As a
matter of fact, since there are no Reformed Baptist churches near me, I don’t
attend a church. Additionally, just because you do not hold to a Reformed
Baptist view; that is Preterist and Calvinist does not mean that we cannot
fellowship together; as long as we walk in Christ then we are good and we can
always reason about the differences.
For example, there is a gentleman that lives in Oklahoma. We have never
physically met but we have had many conversations. We are both walking in Christ.
I know that he does not share my Preterist/Calvinist views but we both still
walk in Christ. He is my brother. That also goes for another gentleman in
Colorado.
If there are difference in worldview with anyone I call brother then I am not
going to force mine on them. I will have an open discussion with them but at
the end of the day, if they still disagree, they are still my brother. Brothers
love unconditionally and I do not call minor differences in worldview a
condition.
So, what does 1 John 3:10 come down to? Those that are saved are the children
of God. They have had their sin transferred to Jesus and the righteousness of
Jesus transferred to them by the cross and resurrection (the gospel). Those
that are not saved are the adversary.
Those that are saved love their brother.
How do we know that we are saved? God has declared it from the beginning and
His sheep know His voice. Those that are saved will get that.
We all have a job.
[Matthew 28:18-20 KJV] And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.
All of the disciples of Jesus are to spread His word and the gospel.
This is the gospel of Jesus: [1 Corinthians 15:1-6 KJV] Moreover, brethren, I
declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have
received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in
memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I
delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ
died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that
he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen
of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred
brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some
are fallen asleep.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Peace.
