Peace to you my brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: [1 Peter 1:13 KJV] Wherefore gird up the loins of your
mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto
you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
Girding the loins: Prepare oneself for action, as in I'm girding up my loins
for that crucial interview. This expression originally alluded to tucking up
the traditional long robe into a girdle (that is, a belt) so it will not hamper
physical activity.
Sober: νήφω nḗphō, nay'-fo; of uncertain affinity; to abstain from wine (keep
sober), i.e. (figuratively) be discreet:—be sober, watch.
To be sober, to be calm and collected in spirit.
Hope: ἐλπίζω elpízō, el-pid'-zo; from G1680; to expect or confide:—(have,
thing) hope(-d) (for), trust.
To have faith.
Grace is a gift we do not deserve.
We are to prepare our mind for action, be calm in the spirit, and be faithful
in the grace that we receive until our own death and resurrection.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Peace.
