Deuteronomy 6:17

Peace to you my brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Deuteronomy 6:17

Verse Text: [Deuteronomy 6:17 KJV] Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

In 586 BC the temple was destroyed by Babylon. From then until Cyrus allowed the temple to be rebuilt and it was completed in 515, the temple sacrifices ceased. For 71 years there was no temple sacrifice because the temple did not exist; that is, Israel could not complete that part of the commandments.

In 70 AD the temple was destroyed by Rome. Again, the temple sacrifice ceased for Israel and have ceased for over 1,950 years at the time of this writing. This part of the commandments cannot be completed.

There are commandments that can and should still be followed; Exodus 20:1-17, Numbers 15:38, and Leviticus 11 are just a few examples. Pray and ask and the Holy Spirit will guide you.

Go forth and spread this good news.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Peace.
