Peace to you my brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 4:14-16
Verse Text: [1 Timothy 4:14-16 KJV] Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which
was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may
appear to all. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them:
for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
1 Timothy 4:14 is actually referring to two gifts given to Timothy; one by
prophecy – His Holy Spirit, and one by the laying on of hands by the elders of
the assembly - pastorship.
[Joel 2:28-29 KJV] And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out
my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your
old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the
servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
That is the prophesy and His Holy Spirit is the gift promised to us in
prophesy.
Please note that from Joel His Holy Spirit is poured out on all flesh so we
have His Holy Spirit but whether or not we listen is up us.
Meditate: μελετάω meletáō, mel-et-ah'-o; from a presumed derivative of G3199;
to take care of, i.e. (by implication) revolve in the mind:—imagine,
(pre-)meditate.
We meditate through prayer and we need to pray that we are able to hear and
obey His Holy Spirit.
Doctrine: διδασκαλία didaskalía, did-as-kal-ee'-ah; from G1320; instruction
(the function or the information):—doctrine, learning, teaching.
Our doctrine should be His word. His word is truth.
[John 8:31-32 KJV] Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye
continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the
truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk
Torah-ly. Peace.
