Peace to you my brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: Matthew 10:37-38
Verse Text: [Matthew 10:37-38 NKJV] 37 "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
Remember what He said in the ten commandments:
[Exodus 20:4-6 NKJV] 4 "You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness [of anything] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth; 5 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth [generations] of those who hate Me, 6 but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
When God says that He is jealous it means that He does not bear any rival. This should go without any saying; He is our creator and He should not have to bear any rival.
If we let family, money, power, or anything be His rival then we are wrong.
[Matthew 8:22 NKJV] 22 But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead."
Nothing comes before Him.
Cross: σταυρός staurós, stow-ros'; from the base of G2476; a stake or post (as set upright), i.e. (specially), a pole or cross (as an instrument of capital punishment); figuratively, exposure to death, i.e. self-denial; by implication, the atonement of Christ:—cross.
When Jesus walked among us all in Jerusalem knew what the cross was; an instrument of death. In many areas of the world today being a Christian is an instrument of death because if Christians are caught then they are killed. It may come to that in many other places but we should noth be afraid of death.
[Luke 9:60 NKJV] 60 Jesus said to him, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God."
We are to preach His kingdom and not worry about anything else. If this can’t be done then go back to the world.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Peace.
