Luke 1:28-31

Peace to you my brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Luke 1:28-31

Verse Text: [Luke 1:28-31 NKJV] 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored [one], the Lord [is] with you; blessed [are] you among women!" 29 But when she saw [him], she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. 31 "And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS.

In verse 27 Luke calls Mary a virgin. There are many that cast doubt on this because they cannot believe that a virgin can conceive but with God and His Holy Spirit anything is possible. Additionally, this was a Jewish community and the virginity of an unmarried young woman was sacred. There is no doubt that in that community that Mary was a virgin.

The verses under consideration are the announcement of the conception and birth of Jesus; the savior and redeemer of all that have been born again. Why do I say that?

[John 3:16 NKJV] 16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

In Greek the word world is kosmos: κόσμος kósmos, kos'-mos; probably from the base of G2865; orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration; by implication, the world (in a wide or narrow sense, including its inhabitants, literally or figuratively (morally)):—adorning, world.

When applied world could mean the entire population or a specific population. In this case it is a specific population; those that also love God; the truly born again. Look here for proof:

[Revelation 20:12-15 NKJV] 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

The people cast into the lake of fire were not reborn so Jesus did not come for them.

This is probably the hardest thing I have written since I have been doing this. Not all are saved and there is not one thing we can do about it but pray for them that they wake up.

As I have said before, it is our job to spread his word and the job of His Holy Spirit to wake people up to it. We need to do our job, but we can have remorse for those that don’t get it. We need to keep praying for them no matter what.

Go forth and spread this good news.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Peace.
