1 Corinthians 13:8-13

Peace to you my brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 13:8-13

Verse Text: [1 Corinthians 13:8-13 KJV] Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

Charity: ἀγάπη agápē, ag-ah'-pay; from G25; love, i.e. affection or benevolence; specially (plural) a love-feast:—(feast of) charity(-ably), dear, love.

Honestly, this is speaking of the only love God can give. True agape is not possible in the flesh unless you are Jesus.

The rest of 1 Corinthians 13:8 and all of 1 Corinthians 13:9 is speaking of things done in the flesh.

1 Corinthians 13:10 is saying that when we are resurrected then we will have full knowledge.

1 Corinthians 13:11 is speaking of our spiritual growth.

1 Corinthians 13:12 is speaking of the difference between how we are now and how we will be after resurrection.

Abideth: μένω ménō, men'-o; a primary verb; to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy):—abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry (for), × thine own.

1 Corinthians 13:13 tells that faith, hope, and the love of God dwells in us.

Go forth and spread this good news.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Peace.
