Shalom brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: Psalms 66:19-20
Verse Text: [Psalm 66:19-20 NKJV] 19 [But] certainly God has heard [me]; He has attended to the voice of my prayer. 20 Blessed [be] God, Who has not turned away my prayer, Nor His mercy from me!
These verses are about answered prayers. But, what about the ones that seem to be unanswered?
It is said that all prayers are answered; it is just that sometimes the answer is no.
[Matthew 7:7-11 NKJV] 7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 "Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 "Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
Again, these verses seem to confirm that all prayers are answered but let us take a closer look.
[Matthew 7:11 NKJV] 11 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
Our Father will only answer our prayers with good things so if you ask for things that would not be good for you then it will not be given. Also, there is this:
[Matthew 6:12 NKJV] 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
[Ephesians 4:32 NKJV] 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
If we do not forgive others then God will not hear our prayer. This may seem like a hard thing to do but it is a must. You don’t even have to remember exactly why you are not forgiving them but pray a prayer of forgiveness for all; let it go.
[1 Thessalonians 5:17 NKJV] 17 pray without ceasing,
Simply put, don’t stop praying. You don’t have to pray every minute of every day but you should have some time allotted for prayer. The Jews had morning, afternoon, and evening prayer so pray before breakfast, before lunch, and before supper.
[Luke 18:1 NKJV] 1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,
Don’t give up.
[Isaiah 41:9-10 NKJV] 9 [You] whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, 'You [are] My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: 10 Fear not, for I [am] with you; Be not dismayed, for I [am] your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.'
God is with us all the time. If we have forgiven all then He hears our prayers. He gives us what we need and, if it is good for us, what we want.
[Luke 22:42 NKJV] 42 saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."
Always His will be done.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
