Shalom brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: Matthew 12:36-37
Verse Text: [Matthew 12:36-37 NKJV] 36 "But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. 37 "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
Idle in Greek is ἀργός argós, ar-gos'. It is used as idle but also as useless. In verse 36 these are useless words; words spoken without thought or with malice. Shooting from the hip.
Again, this is a practice I need to watch in myself. I tend to see things and say something without thinking; many times because of what someone allegedly said or did.
Unfortunately, this has also become the Facebook mentality. People tend to see things on FB and immediately want to comment on them without looking deeply into the situation. Guilty as charged here.
People tend to see articles on the internet and react the same way.
[Revelation 20:11-15 NKJV] 11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
All of us will be held accountable for our actions. Don’t shoot from the hip. Don’t let the world control you. Let His Holy Spirit lead you.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
