Today’s Bible Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Verse Text: [1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV] 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
[1 Thessalonians 5:16 NKJV] 16 Rejoice always,
So, what is there to rejoice about in this world? If we are part of His body then we have Him, His word, and the punishment for our sin is done away with. These are enough to rejoice in and thank Him for.
But there is more, we have the joy of spreading His gospel and the ability to thank Him every day for all that we have and for all of the lives we have touched in His name.
Somebody asked on Facebook, what would you do if you woke up today with only the things you thanked Him for yesterday. My answer was, then I would still have the things I had yesterday because every day I thank Him for all the things He has given me and if I touched you in His name then I would still have you because I thank him for all those whose hearts I touched in His name.
[1 Thessalonians 5:17 NKJV] 17 pray without ceasing,
Our life should be one constant prayer of thanks to Him and of exaltation of Him. And, yes, if it advances His name then we can ask for help in our lives.
[1 Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV] 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
As I have already indicated, give thanks for all that you have been given. It has been given to you for a purpose.
Go forth and spread this good news.
