Shalom brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: 2 Timothy 2:22-26
Verse Text: [2 Timothy 2:22-26 NKJV] 22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and [that] they may come to their senses [and escape] the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to [do] his will.
Lust in the Greek is e-pe-thü-me'-ä. It is translated lust but craving is a better translation. We are to put away the cravings taught to us by the world and pursue His commandments with our brothers and sisters. Living by His commandments gives us faith, love, and peace.
[2 Timothy 2:23 NKJV] 23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife.
There are so many foolish and ignorant disputes in today’s society; especially in what is called “social” media. Ask yourself, does this spread His gospel? If the answer is no then leave it alone.
I am finding myself more and more caring less and less about what people say in “social” media these days.
[2 Timothy 2:24-26 NKJV] 24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and [that] they may come to their senses [and escape] the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to [do] his will.
John called himself a servant of the Lord. This means that John is His bond servant. Because Yahshua paid the ransom price for us all, we are all His bond servants. As His servants we must follow what is said in 2 Timothy 2:24-26.
[Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV] 19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, [even] to the end of the age." Amen.
Yes, we should all be able to teach His word, this is how we make disciples of all the nations for Him. This is also how we can correct those in opposition.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
