Words mean things

[John 8:13, 44 NKJV] 13 The Pharisees therefore said to Him, "You bear witness of Yourself; Your witness is not true." ... 44 "You are of [your] father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own [resources], for he is a liar and the father of it.

Yahshua was speaking to the Pharisees. He basically called them devils or false accusers.

[Matthew 12:1-2 NKJV] 1 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. 2 And when the Pharisees saw [it], they said to Him, "Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!"

Here they are falsely accusing Him and his disciples of breaking Torah.

[Matthew 9:3 NKJV] 3 And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, "This Man blasphemes!"

Here they falsely accusing Him to be a blasphemer.

[Mark 3:2 NKJV] 2 So they watched Him closely, whether He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him.

Another false accusation.

The Pharisees were doing everything in their power to falsely accuse Yahshua of violating the Torah.

[Matthew 4:1 NKJV] 1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Devil = false accuser. The Pharisees were false accusers.

[Matthew 4:3 NKJV] 3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread."

Tempter = someone making a trial. We know that the Pharisees were trying Yahshua by many accounts in the Apostolic Witness.

The Pharisee wanted to see if Yahshua had any special powers because the Messiah would be able to perform miracles. He did but they were ignorant of it.

[Matthew 4:5-6 NKJV] 5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In [their] hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.' "

[Psalm 91:11 NKJV] 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways.

Well, this actually applies to all the righteous but most especially to the Messiah. Again, a test n=by the Pharisee to see if the Father would step in.

[Matthew 4:8-9 NKJV] 8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, "All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me."

Worship – kneel before or give obedience to, to give respect to someone of a superior rank.

The Pharisees elevated themselves above their flock. They considered themselves superior. He was telling Yahshua that if you join me then I will give you power. This Pharisee may have been the high priest himself.

Words mean things.
