Shalom brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: John 16:25-33
Title: Yahshua Has Overcome the World
Verse Text: [John 16:25-33 NKJV] 25 "These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. 26 "In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; 27 "for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God. 28 "I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father." 29 His disciples said to Him, "See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech! 30 "Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God." 31 Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe? 32 "Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. 33 "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
The NKJV says figurative language but it is parable; a story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson.
Here Yahshua is telling us that he has spoken in parables but a time us coming when He will speak plainly. If you look at verse twenty-nine you will see that His disciples noted that He was speaking to them plainly then for they clearly understood that Yahshua was telling them that He came forth from heaven into the world and would return to heaven.
When Yahshua spoke of His death and resurrection and of the things that would happen in that time He was speaking plainly. He continued speaking plainly from that point and that is why, by verse twenty-six, all that walk with Him in His ways can ask for things for His glory in His name, or, better yet, His character.
In verse thirty-two Yahshua is telling us of the scattering that will happen when the temple guard show up with Judas to take Yahshua to the Sanhedrin.
Have you ever noticed the truth of verse thirty-three? The world, that is, the bacon Jesus followers, the atheists, and those walking in other faiths do give those of us doing our best to walk with our Master such tribulation but when we gather in His name either in physical fellowship or on the internet that tribulation seems to go away.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
