The Law

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: 1 Timothy 1:8-11

Title: The Law

Verse Text: [1 Timothy 1:8-11 NKJV] 8 But we know that the law [is] good if one uses it lawfully, 9 knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for [the] lawless and insubordinate, for [the] ungodly and for sinners, for [the] unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

As the apostle indicates, Torah is not meant for the righteous person for the righteous person, by the definition of righteous, lives by Torah in love. It becomes very difficult for them to violate Torah. The only way I can truly describe this experience is that you really have to have it yourself. I know that I am becoming less and less the person I was and more and more the person He wants me to be by letting His Holy Spirit guide me as a shepherd would guide his sheep.

Torah is for those that do not have it. They do not know Torah because they do not know God and have not been touched by His Holy Spirit.

Verse nine lists types of people the Torah is for and one of those listed is insubordinate; that is, those that do not bow to any type of authority; not even their parents. They violate the fifth commandment; they have honor for nobody, especially their parents and we see that more and more in today’s society.

If we look at the group of people listed in verses nine, ten, and eleven we see that they completely violate the ten words first given us by Yahshua. They have no respect for God or man. These people will see the second death unless they wake up. All we can do is bring His word to them and pray that His Holy Spirit will wake them up.

[1 Timothy 1:5-7 NKJV] 5 Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, [from] a good conscience, and [from] sincere faith, 6 from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, 7 desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm.

Now, there is a second group that the apostle is speaking of. These are the people that think that they have received some sort of charge to teach from God. Instead of letting His Holy Spirit be their guide they have gone to some man-made educational system and gotten a degree and now think that they have the right to teach or pastor a church. I don’t need to give names here because we all know who they are and we know that they are not being led by His Holy spirit because they have little to no understanding of Torah.

[James 3:1 NKJV] 1 My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.

I now know that I have been given a charge to teach and I know that the stricter judgement will fall on me and I pray that I get it right. But I don’t want this to be about me; I want this last part here to be about those that have this charge and those that think they do. Pray for them because they all have many listening to them. Pray especially hard for those that think that they have the charge because they are leading so many to the second death.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
