Shalom brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: 2 Thessalonians 3:5
Title: Patience
Verse Text: [2 Thessalonians 3:5 NKJV] 5 Now may the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.
The Greek word used for patience is hypomonÄ“; it actually means patient waiting. Strong’s says that it is the characteristic of a man who is not swerved from his deliberate purpose and his loyalty to faith and piety by even the greatest trials and sufferings.
We are to have the patient waiting of Yahshua.
[Psalm 90:10 NKJV] 10 The days of our lives [are] seventy years; And if by reason of strength [they are] eighty years, Yet their boast [is] only labor and sorrow; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
Three score and ten comes to seventy years. If we consider that seventy years is the measure of a generation, Yahshua has been waiting for over twenty-eight generations: over two thousand years. That is patient waiting and that is the type of patience we should have.
In a society of instant gratification, patience is the hardest thing to have. If you add in someone that you depend on being a chronic procrastinator then you have a cocktail for a meltdown, and I have found myself in that position many times. I can tell you that getting angry does not fix the situation and pushing the procrastinator can make the situation worse. The only solution is patience and prayer.
The solution of patience and prayer may seem like you are simply giving up and giving in but what you are really doing is putting the problems back in the hands of the only one that can help you through it; Yahshua.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
