Cast Down but Unconquered

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 4:7-15

Title: Cast Down but Unconquered

Verse Text: [2 Corinthians 4:7-15 NKJV] 7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. 8 [We are] hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; [we are] perplexed, but not in despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed-- 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus' sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So then death is working in us, but life in you. 13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak, 14 knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present [us] with you. 15 For all things [are] for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

Earthen vessels is referring to mankind.

[Genesis 3:19 NKJV] 19 In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you [are], And to dust you shall return."

Dust in Hebrew is `aphar; earth.

We were made of the dust of the ground so we are earthen vessels that contains the spirit of God; that is, the spark of God that has given us life. This spark of life spirit from God needs to be separated from the Holy Spirit of Yahshua. Just because we have His spark in us to maintain our life does not mean that we have His Holy Spirit.

Those of us that live by Torah in love and faith and walk as Yahshua walks; that is, we do things as He does, have His Holy Spirit for we know His word because His Holy Spirit has written it on our heart.

Our work is to spread His word to the four corners of the earth and for this we are persecuted and ridiculed and some martyred. This may be so but we are not forsaken by Yahshua.

He died that we that live by His word and walk with Him so that we may have eternal life. We may see the death of the mortal body but if we are in His body, we will see eternal life in Him.

We that are in Him do believe; that is, have faith and we speak of Him and His word to all that will listen; that is our charge by Him. For this Our Father will raise us up with His Son.

Now go forth and do His work through His Holy Spirit.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
