The Consummation of Love

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: 1 John 4:17-19

Title: The Consummation of Love

Verse Text: [1 John 4:17-19 NKJV] 17 Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us.

Boldness in Greek is parrēsia; it means to be outspoken.

The day of judgement here is judgement by mankind, not Yahshua. He is telling us that when men judge us, and you know very well that they do, we should be outspoken in our faith in Him and love for Him. We should hold no fear in being outspoken. What can they do to us; put us in jail or kill us? Actually, that will happen to some but we should have no fear of this.

Take Paul as an example. He was whipped, beaten, stoned and persecuted in many ways yet his zeal, his outspokenness was never broken.

[Daniel 3:17-18 NKJV] 17 "If that [is the case], our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver [us] from your hand, O king. 18 "But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up."

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego knew that they would be upheld but even if they were not they would still not deny Him. May we be so bold when man judges us for our faith and love.

Be bold and have no fear.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
