Believers Are Salt and Light

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Matthew 5:13-16

Title: Believers Are Salt and Light

Verse Text: [Matthew 5:13-16 NKJV] 13 "You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. 14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 "Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all [who are] in the house. 16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

From Strong’s: salt is a symbol of lasting concord, because it protects food from putrefaction and preserves it unchanged. Accordingly, in the solemn ratification of compacts, this is a practice that continues to this day in some cultures, partaking of salt together.

We that walk with Jesus must protect and guard His word. This is what salt does for food and this is what we must do.

In verse fourteen He calls us the light of the world. In John eight and nine He also says this:

[John 8:12 NKJV] 12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."

[John 9:5 NKJV] 5 "As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world."

As I said yesterday, we carry a piece of Him with us through this journey; we should let it shine brightly as a beacon rather than keep it hidden under the flesh of this world.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.

Please share this with others.
