Shalom brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: James 2:14, 17
Title: Faith Without Works is Dead
Verse Text: [James 2:14, 17 NKJV] 14 What [does it] profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? ... 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
In context: [James 2:14-26 NKJV] 14 What [does it] profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what [does it] profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. 18 But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe--and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent [them] out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
You do know that there is nothing random about this universe and no such thing as coincidence? Right?
The site where I get these verses is called Bible Dice and is supposed to be random; however, the Holy Spirit of Jesus is always involved and selects these verses both for my benefit and yours. My work is to collect these verses and let the Holy Spirit of Jesus lead me in them.
I keep a spreadsheet of all of the verses I have done since I have been doing this. There are, as of today, 699 entries in that spreadsheet. I looked back in this spreadsheet and see that I did James 2:24 back on Saturday and the topic was on faith and works then. Obviously, the Holy Spirit of Jesus is driving a point home for us and I get it.
As I said, this is the work meant for me and yes, others can do it and are doing it but you must discern through prayer what the work is that Jesus wants you to do. Do not be surprised if it is no more than being an example to others by walking Torah; in today’s world this is a very difficult task because there are many satans, adversaries, out there.
Prayer is very important in this for it is the only way to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit of Jesus. Take every opportunity to pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit of Jesus, our comforter, and please include prayers for others. Prayer is a very important work for us all.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
Please share this with others.
