Use You Talents For His Glory

Today’s Bible Verse: [Matthew 25:21 ESV] 21 His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.'

Let’s look at the whole parable:

[Matthew 25:14-30 ESV] 14 "For it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property. 15 To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away. 16 He who had received the five talents went at once and traded with them, and he made five talents more. 17 So also he who had the two talents made two talents more. 18 But he who had received the one talent went and dug in the ground and hid his master's money. 19 Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them. 20 And he who had received the five talents came forward, bringing five talents more, saying, 'Master, you delivered to me five talents; here, I have made five talents more.' 21 His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.' 22 And he also who had the two talents came forward, saying, 'Master, you delivered to me two talents; here, I have made two talents more.' 23 His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.' 24 He also who had received the one talent came forward, saying, 'Master, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed, 25 so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent in the ground. Here, you have what is yours.' 26 But his master answered him, 'You wicked and slothful servant! You knew that I reap where I have not sown and gather where I scattered no seed? 27 Then you ought to have invested my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received what was my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents. 29 For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

In Matthew 25 Jesus gives some parables that describe the Kingdom of Heaven.

First of all, what is the Kingdom of Heaven? It is God’s Kingdom. His domain is not only heaven, but it is also earth. After His resurrection, Jesus was given that domain to rule. That means that we are now living IN the Kingdom of Heaven.

That also means that we are living IN the millennial kingdom. How can I say that? In Biblical terms a millennium is just a long time. You don’t have to agree with me.

Returning to the parable, we have three men that are given five, two, and one talent. It is interesting that talent is a term for money, but it is also an ability. Each of us are given certain abilities and we either use them for the glory of God or we squander them.

Two of these men used the talents they were given for the glory of God and multiplied His glory. The third squandered his talent by burying it and nothing came of it. The first two were rewarded for what they did and blessed with more and the third was punished and cast out.

When we look at this parable, we see this, we are all blessed with certain talents by God. We can either use these talents for His glory or we can squander them on selfish ambitions. We see this in life all around us. For example, musicians blessed with vocal ability or ability to play an instrument using that talent to either perform praise to God or seek selfish riches for themselves. Another example are athletes that are given an open mic and using it to boast of their own ability or preaching hatred instead of thanking God for their ability and spreading the gospel.

Instead of squandering your talent on the world, use your talent for His glory.

In the parable the man, the king, Jesus, went on a long journey, much like the time we are in now. As I said, it is my strong belief that we are living in the millennial kingdom and through His Holy Spirit Jesus is making His enemies His footstool. When He makes His postmillennial return, He will call us to be accountable for how we used our talents. Those that used them for His glory will be rewarded and those that squandered them will be cast out. This is what His Holy Spirit has led me to see.

It is the elect that have salvation and it is my prayer that you are among the elect and that this serves as your catalyst for awakening.

This is the gospel:

[1 Corinthians 15:1-6 NLT] 1 Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it. 2 It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you--unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place. 3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said. 5 He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve. 6 After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have died.

[Acts 2:22-24 NLT] 22 "People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through him, as you well know. 23 But God knew what would happen, and his prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed him to a cross and killed him. 24 But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip.

[1 John 2:2 NLT] 2 He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins--and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.

This is penal substitution; that is, our sins were transferred to Jesus and His righteous transferred to us.

We all have a job.

[Matthew 28:18-20 NLT] 18 Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

All of the disciples of Jesus are to spread His word and the gospel.

Go forth and spread this good news.

I pray that God has revealed Himself to you and that you have salvation.

Remember, God is sovereign. That means that he controls everything.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Peace.
