Peace to you my brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: [Genesis 39:7-9 KJV] 7 And it came to pass after these
things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie
with me. 8 But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master
wotteth not what [is] with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he
hath to my hand; 9 [There is] none greater in this house than I; neither hath
he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou [art] his wife: how then
can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?
The story of Joseph is one of my favorites. He goes through so much adversity
and, like a cat, ends up on his feet.
He always managed to obey God’s law and, honestly, it did not place him in a
good position every time. Unfortunately, that is the same for all of us. Some
of us will see persecution because of our godliness. We were told that in
scripture.
[Luke 21:12 KJV] 12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you,
and persecute [you], delivering [you] up to the synagogues, and into prisons,
being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
Luke 21:12 was to those believers in the first century before the destruction
of the temple in 70 AD but it also applies to believers today. There are many in
Chinese jails just for being Christians and many slaughtered in Muslim countries
for being Christians. There are those in jail in Britain for publicly quoting
from the Bible. This type of persecution has not hit the United States yet but
there are still many not allowed to attend church services due to the COVID-19
restrictions and with the communistic approach coming in government more
persecution will come.
But, there is good news. Jesus is on the thrown and has all power in heaven and
earth. He has all authority and is in control.
[Daniel 2:34-35 KJV] 34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without
hands, which smote the image upon his feet [that were] of iron and clay, and
brake them to pieces. 35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver,
and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the
summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away, that no place was found
for them: and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and
filled the whole earth.
That stone that grew into a mountain is the power of Jesus working through His
Holy Spirit and His church. That power will grow until it consumes everything.
It may not look like it now because there always bumps in the road, but things
are improving and they will continue to do so.
[Psalm 110:1 KJV] 1 [[A Psalm of David.]] The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou
at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Things will continue to improve until all the enemies of Jesus are His
footstool and then He will return.
We are part of this. We have been given skills to make a difference. We can’t
sit on our hands waiting for a rapture; we need to take action. We need to
spread His word and His gospel. We need to go out into the world and make
disciples for Him and those disciples need to do the same.
We all have a job.
[Matthew 28:18-20 KJV] And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.
All of the disciples of Jesus are to spread His word and the gospel.
This is the gospel:
[1 Corinthians 15:1-6 KJV] Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel
which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you,
unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that
which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the
scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day
according to the scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the
twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom
the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
[Acts 2:22-24 KJV] 22 Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a
man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did
by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: 23 Him, being delivered
by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by
wicked hands have crucified and slain: 24 Whom God hath raised up, having
loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden
of it.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I pray that God has revealed Himself to you and that you have salvation.
Remember, God is sovereign. That means that he controls everything.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Peace.
