Peace to you my brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: [Deu 7:12-13 KJV] 12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if
ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God
shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy
fathers: 13 And he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: he will
also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy
wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in
the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
What is meant by judgements here?
Judgements: מִשְׁפָּט mishpâṭ, mish-pawt'; from H8199; properly, a verdict
(favorable or unfavorable) pronounced judicially, especially a sentence or
formal decree (human or (participant's) divine law, individual or collective),
including the act, the place, the suit, the crime, and the penalty; abstractly,
justice, including a participant's right or privilege (statutory or customary),
or even a style:— adversary, ceremony, charge, × crime, custom, desert,
determination, discretion, disposing, due, fashion, form, to be judged,
judgment, just(-ice, -ly), (manner of) law(-ful), manner, measure, (due) order,
ordinance, right, sentence, usest, × worthy, wrong.
The best fit is formal decree; what we would call a commandment.
Basically we are being told that if we keep His commandments then we will be
blessed? Are His commandments hard to keep?
[Mat 11:29-30 KJV] 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and
lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke [is]
easy, and my burden is light.
That says no, they are not hard to keep. As a matter of fact, with the death
and resurrection of Jesus they got even easier to keep because we do not have
to perform the sacrificial rituals now.
So, what is this yoke? That sounds like slavery, doesn’t it?
A yoke is put on two draft animals so that they can work together. It is not
slavery but freedom. When you are yoked to Jesus, He helps you through life
and, I don’t know about you, but I need all the help I can get. I welcome being
yoked to Jesus so that I can better walk with Him.
We all have a job.
[Matthew 28:18-20 KJV] And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is
given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy
Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you:
and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.
All of the disciples of Jesus are to spread His word and the gospel.
This is the gospel of Jesus: [1 Corinthians 15:1-6 KJV] Moreover, brethren, I
declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have
received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in
memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I
delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ
died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that
he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: And that he was seen
of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred
brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some
are fallen asleep.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Peace.
