Baptism

We see the word baptize in scripture and immediately think of immersion in or the sprinkling of water but what is the sense of the word baptize?

Baptize: βαπτίζω baptízō, bap-tid'-zo; from a derivative of G911; to immerse, submerge; to make whelmed (i.e. fully wet); used only (in the New Testament) of ceremonial ablution, especially (technically) of the ordinance of Christian baptism:—Baptist, baptize, wash.

Immersion and washing is included from the Strong's and while wet as in water is also used it is not specifically implied.

Now look it the word's use in this verse:

[Matthew 28:19-20 KJV] Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

We are to teach, immerse, the nations in His word. We are to do this in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
