Psalms 56:3-4

Peace to you my brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: Psalms 56:3-4

Verse Text: [Psalm 56:3-4 KJV] What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

Trust: בָּטַח bâṭach, baw-takh'; a primitive root; properly, to hie for refuge (but not so precipitately as H2620); figuratively, to trust, be confident or sure:—be bold (confident, secure, sure), careless (one, woman), put confidence, (make to) hope, (put, make to) trust.

We must be confident in Jesus. We must have faith that He is there for us in all times.

Afraid: יָרֵא yârêʼ, yaw-ray'; a primitive root; to fear; morally to revere; causatively to frighten:—affright, be (make) afraid, dread(-ful), (put in) fear(-ful, -fully, -ing), (be had in) reverence(-end), × see, terrible (act, -ness, thing).

Fear: יָרֵא yârêʼ, yaw-ray'; a primitive root; to fear; morally to revere; causatively to frighten:—affright, be (make) afraid, dread(-ful), (put in) fear(-ful, -fully, -ing), (be had in) reverence(-end), × see, terrible (act, -ness, thing).

Afraid and fear are the same word.

[Matthew 10:28 KJV] And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

There is nothing to fear in this world.

Praise: הָלַל hâlal, haw-lal'; a primitive root; to be clear (orig. of sound, but usually of color); to shine; hence, to make a show, to boast; and thus to be (clamorously) foolish; to rave; causatively, to celebrate; also to stultify:—(make) boast (self), celebrate, commend, (deal, make), fool(-ish, -ly), glory, give (light), be (make, feign self) mad (against), give in marriage, (sing, be worthy of) praise, rage, renowned, shine.

When we praise someone we raise them above all others. Honestly, the only one that deserves our praise is Jesus. We praise Him in prayer.

[Psalm 7:17 KJV] I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

[Psalm 9:1-2, 14 KJV] [[To the chief Musician upon Muthlabben, A Psalm of David.]] I will praise [thee], O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. ... That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.

[Psalm 21:13 KJV] Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: [so] will we sing and praise thy power.

[Psalm 22:22-23, 25-26 KJV] I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. ... My praise [shall be] of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him. The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

[Psalm 28:7 KJV] The LORD [is] my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.

[Psalm 30:12 KJV] To the end that [my] glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.

[Psalm 33:1-2 KJV] Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: [for] praise is comely for the upright. Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery [and] an instrument of ten strings.

[Psalm 34:1 KJV] [[[A Psalm] of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed.]] I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise [shall] continually [be] in my mouth.

[Psalm 35:18, 28 KJV] I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise thee among much people. ... And my tongue shall speak of thy righteousness [and] of thy praise all the day long.

And there are many more.

Go forth and spread this good news.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Peace.
