Peace to you my brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: Acts 2:21-24
Verse Text: [Act 2:21-24 KJV] And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know: Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it.
Name in Hebrew is character.
Call on: †ἐπικαλέομαι epikaléomai, ep-ee-kal-eh'-om-ahee; middle voice from G1909 and G2564; to entitle; by implication, to invoke (for aid, worship, testimony, decision, etc.):—appeal (unto), call (on, upon), surname.
To invoke is to call forth. In this case it is to call forth as to assume. We assume His character; that is, we walk in His ways. He lives by Torah and so should we.
But it is more than walking in His ways. He was crucified, died, buried, and rose again to defeat the last enemy, death. We must believe that beyond a shadow of a doubt.
There are many that live by Torah but they don’t believe in the character and deity of Jesus. These people are not reborn and cannot hope to be until they believe in Jesus for who He is and what He did.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Peace.
