2 Corinthians 13:14

Shalom brothers and sisters.

Today’s Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 13:14

Verse Text: [2 Corinthians 13:14 NKJV] 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit [be] with you all. Amen.

The first time grace is mentioned in the Bible is:

[Genesis 6:8 NKJV] 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

This is when God was going to destroy the world but he had grace on Noah and his family.

Hebrew: חֵן chên khane; from H2603; graciousness, i.e. subjective (kindness, favor) or objective (beauty):—favour, grace(-ious), pleasant, precious, (well-) favoured.

Greek: χάρις cháris, khar'-ece; from G5463; graciousness (as gratifying), of manner or act (abstract or concrete; literal, figurative or spiritual; especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude):—acceptable, benefit, favour, gift, grace(- ious), joy, liberality, pleasure, thank(-s, -worthy).

If you notice, one common verb among the two is favor. Favor is an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual. In other words, Noah did nothing to merit God’s grace.

[Genesis 6:3, 5-7 NKJV] 3 And the LORD said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he [is] indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." ... 5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every intent of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. 6 And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 So the LORD said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them."

The common word here is man as in mankind. Mankind had become exceedingly wicked and Noah was  part of mankind and deserved to be destroyed in the flood with all of mankind but God preserved a remnant in Noah and his family. God had grace on Noah and his family.

Looking back at our verse:

[2 Corinthians 13:14 NKJV] 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit [be] with you all. Amen.

This is the greatest salutation you can ever give a person. In it you are asking that the unmerited favor of Yahshua, the love of the Father, and the presence of His Holy Spirit be with the person or group of people. And, so may it be with you.

Go forth and spread this good news.

I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
