Shalom brothers and sisters.
Today’s Bible Verse: Psalms 37:8-9
Verse Text: [Psalm 37:8-9 NKJV] 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret--[it] only [causes] harm. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the LORD, They shall inherit the earth.
The long-term physical effects of uncontrolled anger include increased anxiety, high blood pressure and headache. So, yes, anger can cause harm.
In humans, wrath is revenge and is often caused by anger.
I have seen many times where a person has been angry about what someone said or did to them and plotted revenge. I have never seen it end well for either side. I have been on both sides of the equation.
[Matthew 5:43-44 NKJV] 43 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' 44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
Do as you would want to have done to you. It is hard to not get angry when you have been wronged; this is human nature. I can only imagine how those being persecuted for their faith feel.
The good news is that His Holy Spirit will guide us in these situations, if we allow it. That is the point, we need to trust that His Holy Spirit will guide us and just let go.
Go forth and spread this good news.
I hope this has been a blessing to you. May the rest of your day be blessed. Walk Torah-ly. Shalom.
